Rub-A-Dub in my Ducky Tub
Now that he is sitting up on his own, Logan loves bath time in his rubber ducky tub. His favorite toys are the light-up disco frogs from our friend Ben.

Vikings Victory!
On Sunday we attended the Vikings game versus the Ravens. It was an amazing game that had us biting our nails until the very end. Logan isn't big enough to go to the games yet so he spent the day with Grandma & Grandpa Hardies instead. Although he wasn't with us, he's still an avid fan. Here are some shots of him watching the game with us the week before.

Even he gets excited by a fumble! Go Vikings!!

My First Haircut
Two weeks ago Logan got his first haircut from Matt's Aunt Lori in Iowa. The process wasn't too painful even though he was a little bit squirmy. The cape didn't last long and he eventually ended up on my lap but for being 7 months old he did a pretty good job. Now he looks even more adorable!

He looks like such a big boy now. Thanks Lori!

Photo Shoot on the Farm
Last Saturday, we went to our friend Katy's house and took pictures of Logan and her little boy Brennan. Here are some shots of our little monkey hanging out on the farm.

Yes, our little guy's first instinct was to try to devour the new substance that he was placed on...
...but his displeasure with the pokey yellow straw was obvious within seconds.

These are some of my favorite pictures of Brennan who will definitely follow in his father's footsteps and become a little farm boy. He already loves his little John Deere pedal tractor.

6 months old!
Logan is growing more and more every day. At his 6 month checkup, he was 17 lbs. 10 oz. and 28 inches tall. He's sitting up on his own now and eating solid foods. So far he loves his sweet potatoes and applesauce. He favorite toys are his bouncy seat, his monkey stuffed animal, and anything he's not supposed to have (like the remote control)! He loves to squeak, giggle, chat, and play with mom, dad, and the kitty. Tigger has tolerated him so far. We'll see what he does once Logan is mobile and can chase him! Here are some pictures of our little pipsqueak
Hanging out and dancing in his favorite bouncy chair.

No for sale sign was needed for this cutie while he was posing in his toy bucket during our garage sale. We got offers on him anyway!

Yum, yum! Squash is yummy in my tummy! (This one is just for you Grandma Hardies)

Chillin' in his Mini Pooper shirt waiting for a ride in the car.

Watching the opening Vikings game with Dad.

All Giggles
Here is video of our little man enjoying Dad's imitation of his Cookie Monster toy. It's one of the few things that can really get him giggling (even though Dad sounds more like Yoda than Cookie Monster)!

4th of July fun
We celebrated Logan's first 4th of July weekend in George, Iowa. It was George's 125 year anniversary so there were all kinds of festivities to attend. We went to the parade (which excited Logan so much that he snoozed on dad's lap), we went to an acapella concert, and watched the fireworks. He slept through the whole thing on Grandpa Kruger's lap and barely stirred for all the big booms. And, he of course got showered with attention from all the relatives!

4 months old
Logan had his 4 month check up last week and he weighs 14 lbs 13 oz and is a whopping 26 1/2 inches long. He is a little below average in weight and is still in the 95th percentile for his height. He is definitely tall and skinny!
Today he rolled over from his back to his belly so now that he can make a whole revolution. We're going to have to start baby proofing the house! Here's some pictures of our chatty little boy.

A Month of Firsts
Over the last month, Logan has experienced a lot of new things for the first time. He had his first long road trip and night away from home. Over Memorial Day weekend we visited Great Grandpa Kanengieter and Great Grandma & Grandpa Kruger in Iowa. Then we stopped by Great Grandma & Grandpa Hardies house in Minnesota on the way home. He did great sleeping away from home but did get a little cranky with all the excitement. It wears a little guy out to meet 34 new people in 3 days!
He also got to meet his cousin Sonya, Uncle Jesse, and Aunt Kim. We got to celebrate Sonya's first birthday party with cake, a puppet show, and lots of fun watching the babies.

Sadly for mom, I had to return to work so Logan had his first day in daycare. He wasn't too excited about this and decided to go on a hunger strike and not eat that day. Mommy had to leave work at lunch time and feed him since he refused to take a bottle from Mandy, our daycare provider. Thankfully he has gotten over that and has now adjusted to his days there. It was hit and miss with sleeping for awhile and he would come home a very, very tired boy.
Being around other kids at daycare brings germs into the picture. Logan got his first cold. It killed mommy and daddy to see him sniffle, sneeze, and cough for over a week. Thankfully it never turned into an ear infection or anything worse. He did however pass on his sickness to dad and then mom. We're just now all feeling good again.
Logan also rolled over for the first time last week. So far he has only gone from his tummy to his back but we're working on getting him to roll all the way over.
Our favorite moment from the month is hearing him laugh for the first time this week when daddy tickled him. He's interacting more and more and we love to spend our evenings getting him to talk, smile, coo, and now laugh.
He's accomplished a lot over the last month. What will next month hold? Rolling all the way over? Sitting up? Eating solid foods? We can't wait to find out as our little monkey continues to grow up and be oh so adorable!

2 months old!
I can't believe that 2 months have gone by already. We had his check-up yesterday and he weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces which is average for his age. His length is 25 inches which puts him in the 97th percentile!
During the past week he has had many firsts. He started smiling, cooing, and talking back to us. He loves to stare at people and listen to them talking. You can tell he is concentrating so hard on learning everything he can. He's also started to bat and kick at toys on his play mat. Everyday he is showing more and more smiles and his happy personality. Here is a little clip of him chatting with us.

Our little super hero
When picking a name for Logan, we had to check for all the famous people with that name to make sure that it was an acceptable choice. This of course prompted us to watch Logan's Run the movie (which was an okay flick despite the bad 70s sideburns) and then there is also the Wolverine from X-Men whose name is Logan. After sending out pictures to my co-workers, one of the girls used photoshop to turn our little Logan into a mini Wolverine. Here is our little comic superhero.

One Month Update
Logan is now officially one month old. It has taken us awhile to post again because he has been keeping us quite busy! A few days after we brought him home, his skin was turning more and more yellow colored and we were worried about jaundice so the doctor had us take him in to get tested 3 days in a row. Fortunately, his bilirubin levels peaked before he needed to have any type of treatment. Otherwise his checkups have been going well and he is gaining weight at a steady pace. As you can see from the pictures below, he sleeps a lot right now and that's really the only time I have to take pictures of him. Otherwise he can be very demanding!
I have spent the first month trying to get some sleep, keep up with the housework, and basically watch my little munchkin all day. Matt has gone back to work but loves coming home for lunch to see his little monkey (that is what he has nicknamed him). There are other days where he has been able to work from home and help me out a little with watching Logan. Both Grandmas have had a chance to come down to visit which has also been a huge help.
The debate continues as to who he looks like more. I'm pretty sure he has a lot of Matt's features, especially his long little toes! He still has his full head of hair but it seems to be lightening up in color a little bit. I think eventually he'll be a blondie just like Matt and I were. It's amazing watching him get more of a personalitly each day.
Thank you to everyone for all the amazing gifts and all your support. We are truely blessed to have such great family and friends that surround us. Enjoy these pictures of our little monkey!
